It’s that time of the week to write to you all again and I’ve been reading a lot about the power of social media. With Google’s recent updates that have impacted so many SEO affiliates of late it’s important to look outside of traditional affiliate traffic and invest deeper into the burgeoning growth that Social Media channels like TikTok and Instagram can offer.
Here are some juicy tips on how to leverage social media to skyrocket your affiliate earnings and some of the recent stories and resources I’ve read that you might find interesting to look at too.
Here’s a quick rundown of my social media super tips for you to consider:
I read this interesting articleon OptInMonster detailing some key facts to take note of this week:
The Affiliate industry is estimated to reach $17 Billion dollars as of last year. We know it’s going to exceed that just by looking at the data for 2024.
Amazon Associates holds 47% of the equitable market which means that there is an immense opportunity for affiliates to leverage product growth to generate more sales revenue in their businesses.
The grand-daddy of them all! Perfect for building communities around your audience niche and why should you do that? Well – community marketing is making a come-back as consumers look to peers for product references and recommendations too. Depending on the audience segment you are targeting and considering the demise of the 3rd party cookie shortly, I think you’ll find this is looking to be an attractive platform to re-visit. You can use Facebook Groups to connect with your customers, build engagement around your brand and share amazing content with little complexity.
Engaging daily is key and building a subscriber base from and your community is the focus for your monetisation effort.
Show off your personality AND your products! If you’re passionate about what you’re promoting and want to use short form reels to solicit customer interest – Instagram is for you! A mix of lifestyle shots, motivational quotes and product demos worked wonders for me. Just be sure to use a ton of relevant hashtags and keep the content short, sharp and impactful. I listened to an interesting interview on Affiverse recently with the founder of First Media and it really resonated with me where she spoke about taking your products to where your customers are. Be present where your people are – so do the research and make sure that they are in fact there before you invest in creating a whole bunch of content that isn’t going to be seen or heard!
Setup Twitter lists of influencers and prospects in your niche. Then engage, engage, engage! Retweet their best stuff, comment insightfully, and share value-packed affiliate content. The main attraction on X is that you connect, follow and like. In this channel it’s all about the conversations. So follow them, lurk in them, engage in them and start to leverage content to build engagement around your affiliate brand.
Often forgotten and misunderstood in my opinion. The most underrated social platform for affiliates but check out the stats
Optimize your pins and boards for keywords related to your offers. Pinterest is a self-service search engine for products, inspiration and services. From How to guides to home furnishings – the power of visual imagery is what drives the success on this platform. If you’re good at design, have an eye for detail and are interested in the top performing channels for Pinterest, make this the place to start monetising your content and offers.
The core thing to remember?
Social media is all about being social!
Don’t just broadcast your affiliate links. Engage with your audience sincerely. Add value constantly through advice, motivation and entertainment. Build that crucial know-like-trust factor.
